KFC QLD Breakers Men's U23 team win BRONZE

2008 Mens teamThe Inaugural U23 Men's tournament finished in Sydney yesterday with the KFC QLD Breakers securing the Bronze medal defeating the Sydney Uni in a tight game 11 - 9 in extra time. Billy Miller was named player of the tournament.

This was a great effort as we only had 10 players due to uni and school commitments from other players who could not compete.

The boys played extremely well with 2 games a day, dealing with adversity with tournament rules being changed on day 2, which worked against us.

Dave Will (played for SA) and Anthony Martin (played for Cronulla) in the tournament and was hands on deck for the KFC QLD Breakers during the finals series.

Our club has a bright future with these players involved.

The players were - Raf Sterk (Marquee player), Mitch McCann, Daniel Streets, Lyndon Cranley, Billy Miller, Matt Wilson, Nick Day, Tom Knox, Jordan Votan & Sam Robertson.

Note: Each team in the tournament was allowed one marquee player, who was allowed to be older than 23 years. All other players had to be under 23 years of age as at 1 Jan 2009.

Final placings:
Gold: Drummoyne Devils
Silver: Wests Magpies
Bronze: KFC QLD Breakers
