National 16yrs Club championships
The National 16Yrs Club Champs finished in Brisbane today. Our teams finished 9th (Boys) and 16th (Girls). Both teams enjoyed the experience and improved with every game. The club commitee would like to congratulate both teams for their great effort and look forward to their participation in the 2010 Nuggets round-robin competition held as a curain raiser to our national league home games next year between February and May.
The club would also like to thank coaches Rick Arnold and Jason Swann, team managers Wendy Goode and Christine Descovich and referees Hamish Knox and Elloitt Lucas for their dedication and support. The club would not be able to enter representative teams in these national junior club tournaments without the assistance of these people who give up their own time to conduct training sessions, organise pool hire and team uniform, liase with both players and parents and attend the tournament games. I know both players and parents are extremely grateful for the time the coaches, managers and referees have given up to support our emerging players and the club.

Results: Girls
There were 24 girls teams in the Nat 16Yrs Club Champs held in Brisbane this past week, concluding today. The girls had a hard draw but improved with every game, finishing 16th. They were successful in winning both games played on Friday which improved their overall ranking and gave the girls alot of confidence. The team was coached by Rick Arnold, supported by Bronwen Knox (Senior Breakers player and Beijing 2008 Olympian) and managed superbly by Christine Descovich.

There were 19 boys teams in the Nat 16Yrs Club Champs held in Brisbane this past week. The boys team had a successful tournament finishing a creditable 9th after a number of close games in the group which could have gone either way. The team was coached by Jason Swann and managed superbly by Wendy Goode.
